dream one: avram and i were at my grandparent's old house. avram left the room to call his mom and five minutes later, came back without one hand. he explained that to fix some problem, he'd been told to cut off his hand and that i needed to cut off the other one (for obvious reasons). i did, which was awful and disgusting and strange, and then he explained that the doctor had said i needed to cut off little inch segments of his arms to prevent further damage. at that point i demanded more explanation as to why he'd been told to cut off his hands, which we then realized hadn't been necessary at all. we were panicked, especially when i told avram he couldn't paint without hands. he started trying to paint with his arm stubs, which was pitiful. i went about trying to figure out how he could get replacement hands. it was such a strange, panic-filled, "what an awful mistake!" kind of feeling throughout the dream. i only recall that it ended with me sitting at some sort of meeting being held by strangers in my grandparent's old kitchen, where i was having to pretend to not be freaked out that my husband had just lost both hands in a stupid mistake. i thought to myself in the dream, "oh god i hope this is a dream". and then i woke up.

dream two: this is an older dream, from some time in the last month. avram and i were having a wedding ceremony at last. it was at this beautiful house in some pretty country setting. but a hurricane hit (bizarre since it was far inland), and the party was scattered and crazy before the actual ceremony ever started. i don't even think i saw avram the whole time. then once everything had settled, i realized i needed to go home because someone told me my old deceased cat would be waiting for me there. i felt torn between staying for my wedding ceremony and to enjoy the amenities we'd paid for at the country house and visiting my old cat. but i chose to leave and see my cat.
