last night i dreamt that i came home and avram said critter was dead. i asked what happened, and he said she had been stabbed to death by someone in our neighborhood. i know later in the dream i was feeling wretched--something was going on that i was having to run all over kingdom come to please someone, and everywhere i went looked like the big box, shopping center-filled suburb of plano. all of my running around had something to do with my trying to please or impress a professor or some professor-like figure. later i found myself back at my apartment, and a woman i recently completed a project for was burning things in the backyard of the house behind us. she was with her sister and several friends. they were crying but happy and she came up to the window and said how grateful she was for the project i did for her. i felt pleased but then absurd for all my running about to impress someone earlier in the dream.
